Blog Entry #2: Continuing Practicing Guitar
This past weekend, I have been practicing my guitar a bit more often in order to get better. It's been a while since I've practiced, probably around 2 - 3 months since I haven't practiced playing or learning a new song.
The song Ive been trying to learn is Psicodelica by Junior H, and also have in mind to start practicing Tocame by La Santa Grifa. The reason I want to learn Psicodelica is simply because it's one of my favorite songs from Junior H. Being able to learn a song that I listen almost on a daily would be an achievement that I can be proud of.
One of the hardships of learning this song has been the speed at which I have to change the location of my fingers in between chords. Also, it has to be the constant sliding on the strings. This adds for an experience that is unpleasant and a bit painful on my finger tips. Getting adjusted to the discomfort has been an added challenge but I can get over that after an hour or 2 of practicing. The speed at which the song is played and transitioning between the chords is faster than what I have practiced/ learned in the past. All of this, in my opinion adds for a fun experience, one that comes with hardships and a satisfactory feeling when I get it down.
Finally, Youtube has helped me learn majority of the songs I know how to play on guitar. Though it is a challenge, Its a fun thing I like to do in my spare time and in my opinion, a fun hobby as well. I do wish to buy an AMP to make the guitar sound better and to eventually learn more of my favorite songs.

Efren, I liked the way you shared about how you want to improve your guitar playing skills. I can relate to the challenges faced with switching chords, as I have attempted playing my own guitar. I struggle with stretching my fingers across the strings to make my strum sound clear and not muffled. I firmly believe that the more you practice, the easier it will get. That being said, taking lessons might be something that I do. I think the way you wrote your blog post was thoughtful and personable. I really enjoyed it, so thank you for sharing it.
